Klebsiella
Klebsiella species are found everywhere in the natural environment. This microbial bacterium has various niche adaptations which allow them to survive and exist, with associated biochemical adaptations, which make them better suited to a particular environment. They can be found in water, soil, plants, insects, animals, and humans. Although the bacteria are routinely found in humans, they can also behave as opportunistic human pathogens, causing various infections. Klebsiella is relatively easy to grow in a laboratory as they can grow on ordinary lab medium and don’t necessarily require special growth requirements. At KML, we are able to expedite the growth process and return more accurate results to clients in a timelier manner. Our trained microbiologists plate the samples in the same day that samples are received, ensuring the most accurate and timely test results possible.
