Clostridia
Clostridia is an anaerobic pathogen that is toxic to humans and animals. Organisms that would fall under the clostridium category are found in many places in the environment, most notably soil. When our microbiologists perform testing for various Clostridium, such as Clostridium perfringens and Clostridium botulinum microbes, they look for the spores that may not be present without a favorable environment. Our validated media grows Clostridium, enabling us to perform counts as well as identification on the species of Clostridium present in the sample.
